Conflicts Analyst/Attorney | Greenberg Traurig, LLP

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, located in one of our multiple offices. Greenberg Traurig is a global law firm with locations across 15 countries, offering a collaborative environment. This role is crucial for our Intake Team, ensuring the ethical review of new business to identify and resolve potential conflicts, thereby safeguarding the firm’s integrity and client relationships.

• Mission: To identify and facilitate resolution of potential conflicts, business, and General Counsel policy issues for new business.
• Tech Stack: Windows-based software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conflict Analysis: Understand legal conflicts, related ethical rules, and current developments to properly analyze and evaluate conflict checks, identifying potential issues such as GC business and risk policy concerns or significant client matters.
• Lateral Communication: Communicate with lateral attorney candidates to obtain complete and accurate client and related parties information, distinguishing between portable and non-portable business.
• Conflict Resolution: Administer the conflicts review process and resolve potential conflicts according to Greenberg Traurig policies and procedures.
• Data Research & Documentation: Conduct data analysis and research using various electronic databases, documenting processes, and maintaining records of conflicts-related information from analysis and follow-ups.
• Attorney Communication & Escalation: Communicate potential conflict situations clearly to attorneys, capture institutional knowledge, and elevate ethical conflicts or unresolved issues to requesting attorneys.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced graduate degree or Juris Doctor desired, with core knowledge of legal conflicts and related ethical rules.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Paralegal, Litigation Legal Assistant, Legal Researcher, or in a comparable position consisting of researching in a legal environment or an analytical business role.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving, high attention to detail, excellent communication (oral and written), ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Bonus: Advanced degree preferably in competitive intelligence, research studies or a similar field of study.
