The Tone:
This is a full-time Student/Coop (Fixed Term) role at RBC, located in New York, NY, for a Summer Analyst program. The Summer Analyst program offers a realistic view of municipal finance, enabling rising seniors to build foundational skills in financial problem-solving, negotiation, and execution while gaining experience in marketing the firm’s products and services.

• Mission: Provide analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers for the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds and related financial advisory services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Prepare cash flow projections and related financial analyses for potential and actual capital markets transactions.
• Information Management: Gather, organize, and analyze information required for proposals, client presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials.
• Proposal Development: Assist in the preparation of client proposals detailing financing alternatives, structuring, marketing, and the firm’s underwriting capabilities.
• Market Research Support: Enhance the department’s knowledge of municipal capital markets by collecting, organizing, and maintaining various marketing materials and information resources.
• Transaction Coordination: Coordinate various internal and external activities pertaining to the pricing and settlement of debt transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate students entering their final year of study at an accredited four-year college or university, graduating in Spring 2028 or December 2027, with strong knowledge of finance and accounting preferred.
• Experience: Familiarity with computer applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Skills: Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and strong competency in Collaboration, Relationship Building, Communication, Integrity, and Operating with a Diverse and Inclusive Mindset.
