The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Lewis Brisbois, located in Los Angeles, CA. Lewis Brisbois is a legal organization seeking a dedicated legal secretary with litigation experience to support its team of attorneys. This position is vital for ensuring the efficient administrative and operational flow within the firm, directly contributing to the effective practice of law. The person in this role will play a key part in enabling attorneys to focus on their clients and cases by managing critical support functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide comprehensive secretarial assistance to a minimum of four attorneys, with a primary focus on managing litigation-related tasks.
• Scheduling: Coordinate and arrange various appointments, including attorney travel, depositions, and diverse meetings, managing calendars effectively.
• Documentation: Prepare, file, and serve essential legal documents for both state and federal jurisdictions, and create other necessary legal forms.
• Case Management: Handle the process of opening new client matters and accurately manage various financial-related tasks associated with attorney cases.
• Organization: Oversee docketing processes and maintain strong organizational systems to ensure timely attention to deadlines and easy access to case information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a high school diploma and core domain knowledge in legal practices, with specific experience in litigation.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of experience working in a legal environment.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, the capacity to work under tight deadlines, and the ability to maintain and handle confidential information.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the healthcare sector is preferred.
