What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation & Filing: Prepare a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda, discovery documents, and summons, ensuring accurate e-filing in both state and federal courts.
• Case Management & Coordination: Conduct thorough legal research and factual investigations, coordinate and concisely summarize depositions, and perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistical requirements.
• Trial Support: Develop and organize comprehensive trial binders, exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices to assist attorneys effectively before, during, and after trials.
• Discovery Assistance & Communication: Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests, gather relevant information from various sources, and manage communications with clients, court, and counsel, and other involved parties.
• Settlement & Witness Support: Assist with case settlements and provide necessary support for witness preparation as requested by the attorney.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, and practices.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, court personnel, and counsel. Proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings, alongside strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Extensive computer and database expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute.
• Bonus: An Associate degree, a paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience; completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program; 2+ years of litigation experience; and experience in Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation, Premises Liability, or other injury-related practice areas.
