What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Drafting: Draft and organize litigation documents such as complaints, affidavits, subpoenas, motions, and related court submissions.
• Filing Management: Manage electronic filing of pleadings and other case materials through court systems like MDEC and PACER, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Deposition Preparation: Prepare deposition packets and supporting materials to fully equip attorneys for witness examinations.
• Trial Support: Assemble trial binders, exhibit files, and courtroom materials to support effective presentation during hearings and trial.
• Legal Research: Conduct targeted legal and case research using Westlaw, including retrieving relevant filings, authorities, and background information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: At least 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably with a focus on litigation.
• Experience: Practical experience preparing pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, and other court-related documents, along with working knowledge of electronic court filing systems including Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) and PACER.
• Skills: Proficiency in legal research using Westlaw, ability to draft clear and accurate legal correspondence and procedural documents, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of court processes, filing requirements, and litigation support procedures.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Westlaw AI is an advantage.
