Paralegal | Michels Corporation

The Tone:

The Paralegal role is essential for supporting and driving litigation matters to resolution and providing comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Department. Success in this position requires strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all management levels. Maintaining strict confidentiality and demonstrating a professional presence are critical for this role.

The TL;DR

• Team: Partners with the lead departmental paralegal, in-house counsel, and external counsel within the Legal Department.
• Mission: Support and drive litigation matters through to resolution while providing comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Department.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite, DocuSign

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Document Preparation: Draft and review legal pleadings, briefs, and written discovery, then compile and organize documents and information responsive to discovery requests.
• Process Management: Manage service of process and response calendaring for the Michels family of companies.
• Case Administration: Assist with the day-to-day management of litigation matters and maintain internal claims databases.
• Policy Maintenance: Perform research on, implement, and maintain legal department policies and procedures.
• Departmental Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, processing mail, assisting with correspondence, and preparing and editing documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Intermediate knowledge of law, along with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and DocuSign, ability to collaborate effectively, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Bonus: ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
