What You’ll Actually Do
• Calculate and manage critical deadlines for federal and state court matters nationwide, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable court rules.
• Oversee ongoing calendar management, including updating deadlines based on filings, court orders, and procedural developments.
• Prepare and distribute daily docket and calendar reports to attorneys and legal staff, proactively communicating updates, discrepancies, or upcoming deadlines.
• Execute electronic filings in federal and state courts nationwide in accordance with court-specific requirements and firm protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive docket research, retrieve case-related information, and coordinate ancillary tasks such as obtaining transcripts and arranging service of process.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced Professional. Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local court rules, including judge-specific procedures, relevant to litigation docketing and e-filing.
• Experience: 2–4 years of direct litigation docketing and e-filing experience within a law firm or comparable legal environment. Demonstrated proficiency with rules-based docketing systems, with CourtAlert proficiency strongly preferred, and comprehensive familiarity with NYSCEF and CM/ECF e-filing systems.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in deadline calculation and data entry; strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple matters and competing deadlines; effective written and verbal communication for professional interactions.
• Bonus: Previous experience with California state court docketing.
