What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Perform comprehensive legal research on appeals presented before the Supreme Court.
• Case Analysis: Write detailed memoranda summarizing legal issues, research findings, and potential arguments for appellate cases.
• Opinion Review: Review draft opinions prepared by the Justice and other clerks for accuracy, legal soundness, and clarity.
• Drafting Support: Assist the Justice in preparing preliminary draft opinions for cases under review by the Supreme Court.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Graduation from an accredited law school. This role is suited for candidates with foundational legal education ready to apply their knowledge in a high-stakes judicial environment.
• Experience: No specific years of professional experience are required beyond a Juris Doctor degree. Candidates should possess strong academic and practical skills developed during law school, particularly in areas relevant to appellate review and judicial support.
