The Legal File Clerk is critical for ensuring organized and secure filing in electronic platforms, which is fundamental to the firm’s efficient operation. This role directly contributes to the smooth functioning of case teams by managing essential legal documents and supporting key administrative tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Electronic Filing: Organize and maintain electronic filing systems by sorting, classifying, and saving legal records, documents, and correspondence according to established firm protocols.
• Document Processing: OCR, rename, and process all incoming documents to ensure they comply with firm standards for electronic storage and retrieval.
• Court Docket Monitoring: Retrieve pleadings, motions, and filings from federal and state court systems (e.g., PACER) and accurately distribute them to legal case teams.
• E-Filing Assistance: Support the e-filing of legal documents in state and federal courts, confirming adherence to all jurisdictional rules and critical deadlines.
• Calendar Support: Provide backup and overflow assistance to the Calendar Coordinator by accurately entering deadlines, tracking court dates, and ensuring docket accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a law firm handling civil litigation court filings.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems; strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Bonus: An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred; familiarity with court docket systems (e.g., PACER, state court portals) and e-filing procedures.
