Litigation Legal Assistant | D3 Search

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a highly respected CA-based regional law practice, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, which D3 Search is helping to recruit for. This practice seeks a dedicated Litigation Legal Assistant to provide essential legal, administrative, and document processing services. The role directly supports multiple shareholders and senior attorneys within their public law and litigation departments, operating within a tiered hybrid work model.

• Mission: To provide comprehensive legal, administrative, and document processing support to attorneys specializing in public law and litigation.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), DocuSign

What You’ll Actually Do
• Communication: Manage phone lines for supported attorneys, fielding calls, scheduling conference calls, conveying messages, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Document Preparation: Prepare agendas, reports, and various other legal and administrative documents.
• Administrative Support: Process time entries, open new matters, draft engagement letters, audit responses, make reservations, process reimbursement expenses, and maintain attorney calendars.
• File Management: Maintain legal files (both paper & electronic), organize and file documents, and prepare, keyboard, enter, proofread, and process legal and administrative correspondence.
• Research & Tracking: Conduct research, manage document deliveries, and track final executed documentation for the department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Prior experience supporting litigation & public law attorneys in either a law firm or corporate legal department setting. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Experience: Possess substantive Federal & State e-filing experience. Prior experience working in a business law practice with exposure to litigation & public law areas.
• Skills: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bonus: Appellate experience, knowledge of DocuSign, and exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
