Legal Support Specialist – Litigation | Greenberg Traurig, LLP
The Tone:
This is a full-time in-office role at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, located in Los Angeles, CA. Greenberg Traurig is a global law firm with locations across the world in 15 countries. This role is crucial for supporting the litigation team by providing high-level secretarial and administrative assistance, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in case preparation and management from onset through post-trial. • Mission: Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, ensuring efficient and accurate litigation case preparation and management.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), iManage, document management systems, e-filing systems, other office technologies
What You’ll Actually Do
• Scheduling & Travel: Handle scheduling of court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls, while also coordinating attorneys’ business itineraries and travel arrangements.
• Document Production: Type, compose, and edit general correspondence, memos, and legal documents from various sources, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely dispatch.
• Case Management: Assist attorneys throughout all stages of litigation cases, from onset through post-trial, including document production, data mining, research, and organizing case files.
• Court Filings: Coordinate multi-document filings in Federal, Circuit, and State courts, including e-filings, and format documents according to specific court requirements.
• Trial Support: Provide comprehensive support for trial and mediation preparations, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, and coordinating witness schedules.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Established understanding of litigation laws as they relate to individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience as a legal secretary, specifically within a business law practice in a litigation department.
• Skills: Proficiency with rules for court document filings and comprehension of various legal court documents. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective time management, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications and e-filing.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, and experience with iManage.
