The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AssuranceAmerica, requiring an in-person presence to collaborate directly with the team and navigate company premises. • Mission: This person builds core financial models and provides critical financial and operational analyses to help the leadership team establish goals, track performance, and execute strategic decisions across the business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Analysis: Deliver innovative, high value-added financial information and supporting analysis crucial for strategic planning and decision making, including the accurate monthly forecasting of P&L and cash flows. You will be a key part of driving analyses that help the leadership team execute on major initiatives.
• Project Support: Support a broad range of ad-hoc projects focused on identifying opportunities for reducing costs, increasing revenue, and driving operational efficiencies across various departments within the organization. This will require a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
• Planning & Forecasting Improvement: Participate actively in the annual planning process and routine financial forecasts, while also continuously identifying and implementing areas of improvement within existing financial processes and reporting methods. This includes continually improving budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts.
• Performance Tracking & Insight: Analyze financial and operational results in detail to better understand company performance, clearly linking financial outcomes to underlying operational performance drivers and generating alternatives to drive positive change. This includes analyzing trends relating to financial metrics such as revenue, expenditures, and profitability.
• Trusted Partnership & Decision Support: Establish yourself as a trusted partner to peers and senior leaders by developing an intimate understanding of stakeholder requirements necessary to run the business. You will provide financial decision support to the Accounting/Finance team leadership, the broader executive leadership team, and the Board through appropriate regular and ad-hoc reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another related field, providing a foundational knowledge of finance, accounting, and operations principles.
• Experience: At least three years of financial analysis experience specifically within the property & casualty insurance industry, coupled with proven proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and complex formulas. This role requires experience with financial data modeling and analysis techniques, and understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Skills: Advanced analytical skills capable of leading interactions with senior management, excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly, a highly detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy, and excellent interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and collaboration.
• Bonus: Experience using relevant technologies to pull data, such as SQL or MS Access, to enhance data extraction and analysis capabilities.
