What You’ll Actually Do
• Attorney Enablement: Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to a dedicated team of 4-5 attorneys, encompassing both partners and associates. This involves managing their calendars, meticulously preparing and reviewing legal documents, and ensuring their workflow is optimized for efficiency.
• Court Operations: Execute all aspects of court filings, accurately submitting documents in both state and federal courts. This includes a deep understanding of court programs, tools, and protocols to meet all deadlines and requirements.
• Legal Research & Communication: Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies. Additionally, you will manage essential communications with both courts and clients, ensuring clear and timely information exchange.
• Matter Coordination: Maintain meticulous oversight of ongoing legal matters, diligently tracking progress and providing timely reminders for critical deadlines. Your organization will be key to preventing missed actions and ensuring case continuity.
• Team Collaboration & Values: Offer flexible support to other attorneys and paralegals across the firm as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment. In all professional activities, you will consistently uphold and embody Plona Partners’ core values.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced professional with a high school diploma or equivalent, possessing extensive knowledge of the court system, filing procedures, and deadlines.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, coupled with proficiency in document management systems like iManage, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe.
• Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interactions; exhibit a highly organized approach with keen attention to detail in all tasks; possess extensive knowledge of the court system, including filing procedures, related programs, tools, protocols, and deadlines; and display the ability to establish positive and productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
