The Tone:

The firm seeks a Project Assistant to play a crucial role in supporting various practice groups and legal teams by managing critical information and facilitating project workflows. This position is essential for maintaining accuracy in legal databases, preparing documentation for litigation, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily administrative and project-based tasks, directly contributing to the success of legal matters.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Support: Assist practice groups with special project work, applying an in-depth understanding of database functionality to perform daily tasks.
• Data Management: Analyze, enter, and maintain client/matter and subject/case matter information in databases, adhering to established legal team and department procedures.
• Document Retrieval & Review: Review and maintain databases, conducting searches to locate and retrieve necessary documents and information.
• Litigation & Discovery Assistance: Help compile, review, summarize, and code pertinent documents for litigation and discovery projects.
• Project & Trial Preparation: Set up client files for complex projects, including documents for depositions, productions, and trial exhibits, and may assist with the physical setup of trial materials and provide onsite trial support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of database and system functionality used in daily legal tasks.
• Experience: Practical experience analyzing, entering, and maintaining data in databases, reviewing and performing system searches, and assisting with document compilation for legal projects.
• Skills: Database management, data entry, document preparation (including utilizing document assembly software like HotDocs), organizational skills, and the ability to process vendor invoices.
