Accounting/Finance Intern Fall 2026 | PPL Corporation

The Tone:
This is a part-time, hybrid internship at PPL Corporation, located in Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY. As one of the largest investor-owned utility companies in the United States, PPL serves 3.5 million customers through its regulated utilities, delivering an outstanding experience. The company is actively investing in new infrastructure and technology to create a smarter, more resilient energy grid and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This role is vital to the PPL Services team, supporting the improvement of rate and regulatory report filings with federal and state commissions, ensuring compliance and contributing to the evolving energy industry.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (20-30 hours/week) during spring and fall semesters; optional full-time (40 hours/week) during summers
• Location: Hybrid, Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY

• Team: PPL Services team, reporting to a manager
• Mission: To help improve the filing of rates and other regulatory reports with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and State Public Utility Commissions.
• Tech Stack: Excel spreadsheets

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: You will prepare supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and filings with the FERC and state regulatory bodies.
• Ensure: You will ensure accounting and reporting compliance with FERC and regulatory requirements and assist with the accurate and timely adoption of new regulations.
• Support: You will support the preparation of various regulatory filings, including distribution and transmission rate filings and required regulatory reports.
• Improve: You will help improve control documentation and update existing procedures.
• Assist: You will perform other duties as assigned by your manager.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics, with a minimum 3.00 GPA. Must possess a basic understanding of financial and accounting theory/principles.
• Experience: Will graduate from an academic program within 12-24 months of internship completion. Must be eligible to work in the United States in accordance with USCIS regulations.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment (both in-person and virtually).
