Litigation Legal Assistant | D3 Search
The Tone:
This is a full-time, direct-hire role with D3 Search’s client, a highly respected CA-based regional law practice, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA (90071). This firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive legal, administrative, and document processing services. The role is crucial in supporting four or more shareholders and senior attorneys across their public law and litigation practice departments, ensuring efficient operation and client service. This position follows a tiered hybrid work model, requiring full onsite presence for the first 30 days, then 4 days in-office for the next 30 days, and finally transitioning to 3 days in-office and 2 days remote after six months.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Communication Management: Manage phone lines for supported attorneys, fielding calls, scheduling conference calls, and relaying messages to clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Document Preparation: Prepare agendas, reports, and various legal documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
• Administrative Processing: Handle time entry, open new matters, draft engagement letters, process expense reimbursements, and maintain attorney calendars.
• File and Correspondence Management: Maintain both paper and electronic legal files, organize documents, and prepare, proofread, and process legal and administrative correspondence.
• Document Tracking: Manage the delivery of documents and accurately track all final executed documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Prior experience supporting litigation and public law attorneys within a law firm or corporate legal department setting, with exposure to business law practice areas.
• Experience: Substantive experience with Federal and State e-filing, including appellate experience as a plus.
• Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems. Possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management abilities, and uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment in a high-volume practice. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and a strong ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Bonus: Knowledge of DocuSign, exceptional computer skills with a quick learning ability for new software, and a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
