Legal Assistant – Litigation | Taft Infrastructure Advisors

This is a Legal Assistant role at Taft Infrastructure Advisors, located in Atlanta. This role is crucial for providing essential administrative support, enabling attorneys and paralegals to serve clients effectively and maintain operational efficiency within the litigation team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Exhibit outstanding client service by greeting clients, responding to work requests, scheduling meetings, and conducting telephone conferences.
• Legal Administration: Provide proactive administrative support for Litigation attorneys and paralegals, including opening new matters, submitting conflict searches, and performing time entry.
• Document Management: Prepare and review letters and memoranda according to Firm standards using word processing and document management systems, and draft various legal documents and filings.
• Court Coordination: Interact professionally with court personnel, perform e-filing in various State and Federal Courts, and proactively monitor critical deadlines.
• Information Governance: Create, maintain, and retire files in accordance with Taft’s Information Governance Policy, while assisting with client contacts, emails, print documents, and mail processing.
The Must-Haves
• Background: 3+ years’ Litigation legal assisting experience in a law firm or other legal setting. Possess knowledge of the litigation process and general court operations.
• Experience: Ability to read, understand, and identify complex documents such as pleadings and other materials related to a litigation matter.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize work with urgency, and communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Kofax/Nuance, InTapp, LMS+, iManage, DocuSign, or similar software. Education beyond high school or coursework related to the legal industry is preferred.
