Paralegal, Licensing & Anti-Counterfeit | LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, located in Downtown Los Angeles. LA28 is an independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This Paralegal position is an integral part of the legal team, supporting commercial and consumer products licensing efforts, and offers a significant opportunity for professional growth and network expansion within the organization.

• Mission: This person will manage efficient processes for licensing Olympic and Paralympic intellectual property and support commercial and consumer products licensing teams.
• Tech Stack: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, contract management systems, internal trademark database

What You’ll Actually Do
• Agreement Support: Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and summarizing of a variety of licensing agreements, including for consumer products and co-branded arrangements.
• IP Licensing Management: Interface with business units and the International Olympic Committee to manage efficient processes for licensing Olympic and Paralympic intellectual property.
• Education & Protection: Work closely with the broader legal and rights protection team on internal and external education regarding the protection of Olympic & Paralympic intellectual property.
• Database Maintenance: Maintain the internal trademark database by tracking filing deadlines, registration updates, and associated classes.
• Legal Team Support: Support the broader legal team in drafting and reviewing operational contracts, NDAs, RFP collateral documents, confidential correspondence, memos, and presentations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with foundational exposure to intellectual property law and an understanding of trademark registration processes.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, contract specialist, or legal assistant, preferably with experience drafting commercial contracts.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional research, organizational, and problem-solving skills; excellent word processing and database management skills.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification; experience working with contract management systems; experience in a large law firm and/or corporate in-house legal department.
