What You’ll Actually Do
• Drafting Legal Documents: Methodically prepare and draft a comprehensive array of legal documents, including initial pleadings, procedural motions, detailed discovery requests, and essential legal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards required for civil litigation cases.
• Conducting Legal Research: Perform in-depth legal research on diverse topics relevant to ongoing cases, utilizing various legal databases and resources, subsequently preparing clear, concise, and well-supported legal memoranda to inform attorneys’ strategies and case development.
• Assisting in Family Law Matters: Provide dedicated support across various family law cases, which encompasses assisting with sensitive matters such as divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, child support calculations, and guardianship petitions, contributing to the compassionate and effective resolution of these cases.
• Managing Administrative Tasks: Diligently track and record all billable time associated with client work, ensuring accurate billing records, and strictly maintain client confidentiality in all communications and document handling, adhering to professional ethical standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must have successfully completed at least their first year of law school or be in the process of finishing it. This early career position is specifically tailored for current law students or recent Juris Doctor (J.D.) graduates who are eager to gain practical legal experience within a litigation setting.
• Experience: No specific number of years of professional experience is mandated. However, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office suite applications, a fundamental requirement for legal document preparation and communication.
