What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the analysis and preparation of monthly financial results for management, partnering with internal and external customers to support business growth and provide insights into financial projections.
• Capital Allocation & Budgeting: Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive budgets and forecasts, promoting optimal capital allocation, and leading financial analysis for “Make vs. Buy” decisions and capital project appropriation requests.
• Profitability Improvement: Communicate and drive opportunities to deliver best value for customers, supporting management in planning, measuring, and reporting on business function performance and identifying areas to improve profitability through pricing and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Monthly Close & Compliance: Execute the monthly close process for assigned areas and business segments, including thorough account reconciliation and review of monthly financial reporting packages in strict compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) manual.
• Internal Controls & Efficiency: Assist in the management and administration of business systems and procedures, perform testing and update Sarbanes-Oxley process documentation for changes affecting internal controls, and perform assigned shared services tasks in accordance with standard work instructions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, establishing a foundational understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Experience: Two (2) or more years of relevant finance or accounting experience; alternatively, successful completion of a Finance/Accounting internship within Oshkosh Corporation is acceptable. The ability to travel up to 10% of the time is required.
• Skills: Ability to analyze and prepare financial statements and reports, perform account reconciliations, contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes, and understand corporate accounting policies and internal controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint is also expected.
• Bonus: Familiarity with U.S. and international accounting regulations, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial insights and collaborate across departments.
