The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Ulta Beauty, located in Bolingbrook, IL with a hybrid schedule requiring six days per month in the office. Ulta Beauty is the largest North American beauty retailer, offering over 25,000 products from approximately 500 beauty brands across its stores and thriving digital ecosystem, alongside full-service salon offerings. What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Management: Partner with Accounting and cross-functional business leaders to manage the close process, ensuring accuracy and clarity in variance analysis between forecasted and actual results.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Support the development of financial forecasts and budgets in collaboration with internal stakeholders, evaluating key drivers, risks, and opportunities for accurate, insightful projections.
• Financial Reporting: Own and evolve key reporting processes and reports to deliver timely, relevant, and actionable insights on Key Performance Indicators, predicting future performance and trends.
• Business Support & Analysis: Develop and communicate recommendations to business leaders to drive profitability and support various strategic initiatives by analyzing financial hurdles.
• Efficiency & Ad Hoc Analysis: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve reporting efficiency, and enhance modeling tools, also supporting ad hoc analyses and business case development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Math. This role is suited for an early to mid-career financial analysis professional.
• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, with prior budgeting and forecasting experience preferred.
• Skills: Highly analytical with strong technical and strategic thinking skills; background in compiling data, creating queries, and replicable reports; intellectual curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking; organized and detail-oriented with ability to multitask; extremely strong Excel skills; PowerPoint experience with the ability to present financial data; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Power BI experience; experience in Finance within the retail industry is a plus.
