Executive Director, Risk Management – Wholesale Credit Risk Business Banking | JPMorgan Chase

• Mission: Lead a team to appropriately assess and manage credit risk for the Business Banking Government & Not For Profit portfolio, ensuring compliance, quality, and responsible growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
Credit Leadership & Strategy: Lead as the primary credit analysis contact for the Business Banking Government and Not for Profit leadership team, negotiating terms and consulting on strategic initiatives to support portfolio growth while upholding prudent credit judgment.
Team Management & Credit Decisions: Manage teams of Credit Officers to decision new credit requests, renew existing credit lines, complete annual reviews of larger credit exposures, and analyze complex credit requests, ensuring high quality standards and adherence to credit policies.
Risk Appetite & Portfolio Management: Implement the firm’s risk appetite across various industries and geographies, ensuring appropriate Risk Grading and Loss Given Default assignments to all credits and diligent management of the existing credit portfolio.
Process Improvement & Compliance: Perform reviews of process activities to ensure compliance with control measures, identify opportunities to improve controls and efficiencies, and lead change through identified projects, with direct accountability for Credit Officer quality and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Partner with Sales, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other Risk leaders to deliver continuous improvements, collaborate with the Risk Modeling team, and provide input for deep dives and senior Risk forum presentations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; this is a managerial role focused on wholesale credit risk.
• Experience: 10 years of Business or Commercial Credit experience, with an in-depth knowledge of credit risk assessment and regulatory requirements, coupled with proven leadership managing multi-site teams.
• Skills: Executive presence with the ability to credibly challenge complex ideas succinctly, strong collaboration skills to navigate a matrixed organization, excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation and diplomacy, and the ability to retain, develop, and recruit high-performing talent.
• Bonus: MBA or advanced degree, or direct client engagement experience.
