Litigation Docket Specialist | Husch Blackwell

This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate management of litigation deadlines, directly supporting the firm’s legal teams and client service by maintaining compliance with complex court and agency procedures.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely docketing of litigation deadlines and events for assigned matters using firm software.
• Tech Stack: CompuLaw Vision, Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Pacer.gov, PacerPro, Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Docket: Independently process and docket all identified litigation deadlines and events for designated assignment groups, verifying accuracy and timekeeper assignments.
• Report: Create, review, and distribute accurate matter reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Research: Investigate and apply statutory, agency, court, and individual judges’ rules and practices appropriately.
• Respond: Provide professional and constructive responses to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates and procedural rules.
• Improve: Collaborate with the Litigation Docket Manager to continuously enhance the firm’s docketing best practices, policies, and processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate required, with strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.
• Experience: 3-5 years of litigation docketing experience and 3-5 years of litigation experience in various federal and state courts, including calculating and calendaring deadlines.
• Skills: Ability to research and apply statutory/agency and court rules for any jurisdiction; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and internet research, especially for preparing and reformatting large spreadsheets in Excel; strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and resourcefulness.
• Bonus: 4-year degree in a related field; specific experience using CompuLaw Vision.
