The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at LeGros Buchanan & Paul P.S., located in Seattle, Washington, offering some work-from-home flexibility. LeGros Buchanan & Paul P.S. is a law firm specializing in admiralty and maritime law, business and corporate law, employment law, civil litigation, and insurance defense. This role is crucial for supporting attorneys in providing responsive, high-quality service tailored to complex legal needs for vessel owners, businesses, employers, and insurers, contributing to a practice with broad jurisdictional reach across Washington, Alaska, Oregon, and Hawaii.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Support attorneys with comprehensive case management, including preparing, formatting, and organizing pleadings and various legal documents.
• File & Calendar Maintenance: Maintain accurate case files, manage calendars and deadlines, and effectively track hearings, depositions, and meetings.
• Court Filings: Coordinate all necessary court filings and expertly manage e-filing processes in both State and Federal courts.
• Client Communication: Assist attorneys with professional client communications and correspondence, ensuring clear and timely updates.
• Record Keeping: Compile exhibits and meticulously maintain accurate records within the firm’s document management systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s degree, paralegal or legal assistant certificate, or comparable experience within a law firm setting is required, along with a strong foundation in law and familiarity with civil litigation processes.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with State and Federal court rules, procedures, and e-filings, including state corporate filings, corporate minutes, and discovery processes, as well as proficiency in legal document preparation.
• Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong administrative assistance experience (including calendar management, deadline tracking, file organization, data entry, and general office support), high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Experience with NetDocuments is a plus, as is prior experience in maritime or insurance defense.
