What You’ll Actually Do

• Risk Mitigation: Advise stakeholders on employment actions to minimize legal exposure while supporting a healthy ministry culture.
• Legal Research: Utilize legal and non-legal research tools to analyze proposed initiatives and complex legal matters impacting the church.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Juris Doctor with a license in good standing to practice law, possessing a strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment and labor law.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience, with a preferred focus on employment law.
• Skills: Ability to self‐motivate, make independent decisions, and problem-solve; effective at multi‐tasking and time management; excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Bonus: Understanding of the legal exemptions and protections available to religious organizations, such as the ministerial exception and religious hiring preferences under Title VII.
