Commercial Litigation Paralegal | TBG | The Bachrach Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time Litigation Paralegal role within a prestigious Law Firm, actively supported in its search by TBG | The Bachrach Group. The firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to significantly bolster its thriving commercial litigation practice. This position is central to the efficient management and progression of complex legal cases, involving a wide range of business disputes and transactions. What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Support: Provide comprehensive support to attorneys across all stages of the commercial litigation lifecycle, from initial case assessment and pleading preparation through discovery, trial, and post-judgment procedures. This involves anticipating needs, proactively managing calendars, and ensuring attorneys have all necessary resources.
• Electronic Filing & Service: Master the intricacies of various electronic filing portals for federal, state, and local courts, meticulously preparing and submitting legal documents, including complaints, motions, and orders, while strictly adhering to jurisdictional rules and deadlines. This also includes coordinating electronic service of process where applicable.
• Document Management & Production: Systematically organize, index, and maintain vast volumes of electronic and physical case documents, including correspondence, evidence, and pleadings. This encompasses managing document review platforms, performing bates-stamping, redacting sensitive information, and overseeing the efficient production of documents in response to discovery requests.
• Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct targeted legal and factual research utilizing online databases and resources to assist attorneys in developing case strategies, preparing legal memoranda, and identifying relevant precedents or statutes pertinent to commercial disputes. Summarize findings clearly and concisely for legal team review.
• Hearing and Trial Preparation: Actively assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials. This includes drafting exhibit lists, preparing witness binders, coordinating logistics, managing trial technology, and ensuring all evidentiary materials are properly organized and readily accessible for presentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Career level: Early to Mid-level professional with a robust understanding of legal terminology, court systems, and civil procedure, specifically within the realm of commercial litigation. Candidates should demonstrate a foundational knowledge of business law principles and the types of disputes commonly encountered in commercial settings.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a busy law firm or corporate legal department, focusing on commercial cases. This experience must include a proven track record of successfully managing electronic court filings across multiple jurisdictions and types of proceedings.
• Skills: High proficiency in utilizing e-filing systems (e.g., ECF/PACER, various state e-filing portals); exceptional organizational abilities for managing complex document sets and case files; strong command of legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis); superior attention to detail in drafting, proofreading, and reviewing legal documents; and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with legal teams, clients, and court personnel.
