The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at a securities litigation law firm, located in New York, NY. The firm is seeking a Litigation Clerk to join their midtown office, playing a crucial role in managing the firm’s litigation calendar and docket. This position is vital for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agency rules and deadlines. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Managing Clerk’s Office to support case teams and maintain operational efficiency.

• Mission: Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines by accurately maintaining the firm’s master litigation calendar and docket.
• Tech Stack: CourtAlert, CompuLaw, PACER, Bloomberg, Courtlink, iTimeKeep, NYSECF
What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Manage the Firm’s master litigation calendar, including setting up notification processes and individual attorney calendars.
• Calculate: Determine critical deadlines based on applicable court rules and statutes for various legal matters.
• Monitor: Track case progress in assigned courts, obtain decisions and orders, and communicate status changes to responsible attorneys.
• Serve & File: Execute electronic and manual serving and filing of court papers for federal and state courts.
• Collaborate: Work with the Managing Clerk’s Office to respond to deadline-related questions and prepare customized docket reports.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-Career level professional with knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules, procedures, and requirements.
• Experience: 4-6 years of experience preferred in performing calendaring responsibilities within a law firm setting.
• Skills: Proficient in industry-standard calendaring tools such as CourtAlert and CompuLaw; proficient in online court databases including PACER, Bloomberg, and Courtlink; working knowledge of CPLR and FRCP; competence in electronic filing in state and federal courts.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred; electronic filing experience in Pacer & NYSECF preferred.
