What You’ll Actually Do
• Procedural Guidance: Advise attorneys and staff on Federal, State, and local rules of procedure and practice.
• Document Management: File and service, electronically or by other means, various legal papers in state and federal courts.
• Docketing & Calendaring: Perform essential docketing and calendaring tasks using the firm’s dedicated calendar tool for court filings, discovery, and other papers.
• Vendor Coordination: Work directly with vendors to secure court files, facilitate process serving, and obtain other litigation-related support.
• Database Maintenance: Maintain and update electronic databases, including ECF logins and form files, to ensure current and accurate information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Core domain knowledge in Federal, State, and local rules of procedure and practice within a litigation context.
• Experience: Practical experience with electronic and traditional filing and service of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery papers.
• Skills: Proficiency in docketing and calendaring, familiarity with electronic court filing systems (ECF), and the ability to effectively communicate procedural information.
