The Tone:
This role supports an established full-service law firm, which has a strong reputation for providing high-quality counsel and personalized client service. This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to thrive in a legal environment, managing complex matters and partnering closely with attorneys and clients. The paralegal will play a critical role in supporting a Partner with a diverse practice that spans both real estate transactions and family/matrimonial matters, contributing directly to client success and efficient case progression.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Drafting: Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including motions, pleadings, judgments, comprehensive discovery materials, and essential client correspondence.
• Family Law Specialization: Provide dedicated support for family and matrimonial matters, meticulously preparing financial disclosures, detailed asset/debt lists, child support worksheets, and thorough discovery responses.
• Real Estate Transaction Support: Actively assist with various real estate transactions, covering all phases from initial contract preparation and in-depth title review to final closing documentation and post-closing matters.
• Litigation and Trial Preparation: Organize and review critical financial records, bank statements, and real estate documents, alongside preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and other essential litigation materials as needed.
• Client and Case Coordination: Serve as a central point for coordinating communication between attorneys, clients, lenders, and title companies, while also managing calendars, deadlines, court dates, and all necessary court filings, including electronic submissions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, with demonstrated expertise in supporting both real estate transactions and family/matrimonial matters. A strong knowledge of legal document preparation and comprehensive case management principles is essential for this role.
• Experience: Proven experience in reviewing financial documents, bank statements, and discovery materials. Familiarity with real estate closings, title review, and transaction documentation is preferred.
• Skills: Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organization, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities independently within a legal environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing legal software such as NYSCEF, Westlaw, or ProLaw. A paralegal certificate is preferred or may be required.
