The TL;DR

• Mission: Provide essential paralegal support to attorneys and clients in workers’ compensation cases, ensuring efficient case management and client satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: WCAIS, Litify Case Management

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare cases: Prepare for all hearings, mediations, and fact witness depositions, including the meticulous preparation of exhibits.
• Manage documentation: Draft various letters and legal documents, review stipulations, and accurately calculate AWW/TTD.
• Handle communications: Serve as a primary point of contact by answering calls from adjusters, opposing counsel, clients, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain records: Handle the daily uploading and obtaining of relevant case information from WCAIS and other state equivalent systems, and scan documents into client files.
• Support attorneys: Enter attorney appearances, monitor attorney emails, and prepare responses to counsel, adjusters, and judges.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Paralegal profession; a college degree or paralegal certificate is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal role is required, with at least 2 years of Workers’ Compensation experience strongly encouraged.
• Skills: Case preparation, legal document drafting, client and professional communication, case management system utilization, and WCAIS navigation.
• Bonus: Experience with Litify Case Management.
