Arbitration Assistant-Hourly Position (Temporary Assignment) Civil Division | New Jersey Courts
The Tone:
This is a temporary, hourly position with the New Jersey Courts, located in the Mercer Vicinage, likely Trenton, NJ, with potential for remote work. The New Jersey Judiciary is an 8500-member organization committed to independence, integrity, fairness, and quality service. This role is integral to supporting the Civil Division’s Arbitration Program, contributing to a court system that builds public trust and improves the lives of individuals and families. The TL;DR
• Role: Arbitration Assistant
• Type: Temporary Assignment (max 944 hours/fiscal year), Part-time
• Location: Hybrid, Trenton, NJ
• Pay: $20.00 hourly
• Team: Civil Division, Civil Arbitration Program, reporting to a supervisor
• Mission: Provide varied clerical assistance to support the complementary dispute resolution program in the Civil Division, specifically the Arbitration Program.
• Tech Stack: Automated Case Management System (ACMS), eCourts
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Case Data: Utilize the Automated Case Management System (ACMS) for case-related tasks.
• Handle Electronic Documents: Scan and retrieve documents efficiently from an electronic case jacket (eCourts).
• Process Communications: Prepare and mail correspondence, reviewing data processing output for accuracy.
• Serve Customers: Provide customer services to court users, including answering telephone inquiries and general customer contact.
• Organize Office: Process incoming and outgoing mail and operate various types of office equipment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. One year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services.
• Experience: One year performing clerical and support services, including keyboarding, and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, transcribing information, reconciling balances or accounts, or scheduling meetings or appointments.
• Skills: Keyboarding, document processing, data accuracy review, customer service, office equipment operation, mail processing.
• Bonus: Ability to work remotely with high-speed home internet access.
