Director, ICDR | American Arbitration Association
The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at American Arbitration Association, located in New York, NY. This Director role is crucial for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), focusing on delivering expert international case management services, driving business growth, and actively promoting ICDR offerings, ensuring the highest degree of professionalism and integrity within the alternative dispute resolution field.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Serve as the primary or secondary case management contact with parties, representatives, arbitrators, and mediators on assigned cases, making decisions within the scope of ICDR/AAA policies and procedures.
• Service Delivery: Manage arbitration and mediation cases, ensuring neutrality, confidentiality, and accurate information maintenance in the online case management system, applying high-level knowledge of ICDR/AAA rules.
• Client Engagement: Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with customers to build trust in ICDR/AAA services, proactively identifying expectations and recognizing potential future business opportunities.
• Business Promotion: Actively participate in seminars, programs, and conferences, meet with clients and potential users to educate them on and explore interest in ICDR services, and assist with event organization.
• Neutral Management: Recommend suitable mediators and assist parties in selecting appropriate arbitrators, evaluate arbitrator challenges, provide regular feedback on neutral performance, and assist with arbitrator training programs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LL.M.), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Core domain knowledge in legal, court, or alternative dispute resolution (ADR) environments.
• Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience, with a focus on international arbitration and mediation rules, procedures, and case management best practices.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of international arbitration and mediation rules, excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and time management, analytical and problem-solving.
• Bonus: Fluency in Spanish.
