What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Document Preparation: Prepare and draft critical legal documents and correspondences, such as motions and pleadings, providing essential support to attorneys.
• Case Management and Coordination: Manage attorney calendars and coordinate examinations for defense experts, utilizing an electronic case management system to ensure smooth operation.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key point of contact, communicating effectively with clients and other parties involved in legal cases.
• Discovery Processing: Propound and manage discovery requests, including serving client discovery, to facilitate the legal process.
• Administrative Support: Perform various administrative duties, including maintaining comprehensive files, answering incoming phone calls, and managing general office tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher, coupled with prior litigation experience and a strong understanding of legal terminology.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of legal work experience in a business or legal environment, specifically supporting a professional team.
• Skills: Demonstrated typing proficiency with excellent grammar and accuracy, strong time management and organizational abilities crucial for supporting a large group of professionals, the capacity to work independently while maintaining highly confidential information, and effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills essential for daily interactions.
• Bonus: Previous experience in insurance defense or personal injury within a law firm setting.
