What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Draft, prepare, and organize a variety of legal documents, including correspondence and basic pleadings, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting.
• Case Logistics Management: Maintain and update physical and digital case files, along with managing attorney calendars and tracking critical deadlines to ensure timely actions.
• Scheduling & Official Filings: Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances, and accurately file and record legal documents with relevant entities.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key point of contact, communicating professionally with clients, courts, and other external parties via phone and email.
• Administrative & System Support: Provide essential administrative assistance, which includes handling incoming calls, managing email communications, updating case management systems, and supporting billing and records management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent is required, coupled with a solid knowledge of law and legal processes.
• Experience: Proven experience in a Legal Assistant or similar role within a law firm or legal environment, specifically supporting attorneys or legal teams. This includes proficiency in legal document preparation, encompassing drafting, formatting, and organizing filings and correspondence.
• Skills: Strong communication skills for professional interaction with clients, courts, and colleagues. Demonstrated administrative assistance capabilities, including scheduling, file management, and data entry. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Comfort with case management software, Microsoft Office, and digital filing systems is essential.
• Bonus: An associate’s degree, a paralegal certificate, or other related legal training.
