Litigation Assistant | Morgan & Morgan, P.A.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Morgan & Morgan, P.A., located on-site. The firm is dedicated to protecting millions of Americans as their last line of defense against insurance companies, large corporations, or defective goods. This role is crucial in supporting the legal team by managing daily operations and administrative services, directly contributing to the firm’s mission of fighting for consumer rights “For the People.”

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administration: Perform administrative duties, including scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, and managing logistics.
• Case Management: Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, and organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• Document Preparation: Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts.
• Research & Evidence: Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review, and research regulations, laws, and legal articles.
• Client & Billing Support: Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions, and manage client billing by preparing and sending out bills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. An Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: At least 2 years as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal. Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred.
• Skills: Great written and communication skills, proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediation, and hearings, applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, and extensive computer and database expertise including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a typing speed of no less than 35 wpm.
• Bonus: Bilingual English and Spanish.
