What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and property division, ensuring all aspects are managed efficiently and effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Client Advocacy: Play a critical role in maintaining excellence in client service by balancing legal expertise with dedicated client advocacy, interacting professionally with clients, attorneys, and court staff.
• Document Preparation: Prepare legal documents and filings with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring high-quality legal work is maintained across all cases.
• Court Filings: Perform skilled e-filing with county court systems, adeptly managing this process for multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring compliance.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to ensure collective success and efficiency in case management, proactively solving problems and supporting the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Compliance with California Business and Professions Code 6450 for paralegal qualifications. This includes, but is not limited to, holding a certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program, a degree from an accredited postsecondary institution with law-related units, or possessing specific law-related experience under the supervision of a qualified attorney as defined by the code.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-6 years of experience in family law is preferred, although other legal experience will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in e-filing with county court systems and have experience working effectively with multiple attorneys in a law firm setting.
• Skills: Exceptional writing skills and strong verbal communication abilities are crucial for clear and professional interactions. High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing legal documents and filings is required. The ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously, thrive in a deadline-driven environment, and maintain composure while proactively solving problems are essential competencies. A collaborative mindset focused on teamwork is also key.
