What You’ll Actually Do
• Immigration Law Practice: Actively practice immigration law, providing full legal services and representing clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
• Family Court Representation: Represent clients diligently in Family Court proceedings, advocating for their interests in various family law matters.
• Litigation and Advocacy: Conduct robust litigation, which includes filing necessary motions and presenting persuasive oral arguments in court.
• Appellate Work: Undertake appellate work, preparing and filing appeals to challenge unfavorable decisions and protect client rights.
• Case Management: Maintain meticulous client files and consistently update case information within the firm’s defined case management database.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a minimum of a Master of Laws (LL.M.) or Juris Doctor (JD), or a U.S. foreign equivalent degree.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in practicing immigration law, representing clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and representing clients in Family Court. Required experience includes conducting litigation, filing motions, presenting oral arguments, and performing appellate work.
• Skills: Admitted to the New York State bar, proficient in legal research using Lexis Nexis, skilled in litigation and oral advocacy, capable of appellate writing, and adept at maintaining client files and utilizing a case management database.
