Subpoena Intake Team Lead I | TD

• Mission: This role oversees daily intake operations for legal requests, coordinating workflow, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing leadership to a subpoena team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operations: Oversee daily intake operations of subpoenas and other legal requests, including reviewing incoming documents, coordinating workflow, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry into case tracking systems.
• People Management: Provide people management leadership by hiring talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling any necessary disciplinary actions for the subpoena team.
• Workflow Supervision: Supervise departmental projects, meet regularly with team members to track progress, adjust assignments and deliverables, and provide specific direction to other subpoena staff, assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring their work.
• Complex Request Handling: Oversee the more complex production requests and prepare them for submission to the Legal Research team, while also leading projects, special tasks, and the more difficult to handle summons and subpoenas.
• Training & Communication: Train new subpoena staff members in departmental policies, practices, and procedures, incorporating new processes, and communicate with both in-house and outside counsel on various legal topics.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and the functional areas of the organization.
• Experience: Requires 5 years of related experience, including a minimum of 4 years of legal assistant work experience or administrative experience within a banking, corporate, or legal office environment.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency is necessary with basic office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, and telephone systems, alongside excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Strong typing and transcription skills are essential, combined with excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities. The role demands a detail-oriented, highly motivated, and adaptable individual who can exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate excellent customer service orientation.
• Bonus: A Legal Assistant certification or relevant training is highly desirable.
