Accounting Intern (Fall 2026) | Zipline

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Zipline, located in South San Francisco, CA, scheduled for the Fall 2026 semester (September to December). Zipline designs, builds, and operates the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, dedicated to providing access to essential goods and medicine via drone delivery across four continents. This role is crucial within the Finance & Accounting team, where the intern will manage critical accounting tasks that ensure the smooth and efficient running of Zipline’s global operations. It offers a hands-on opportunity to learn the foundational building blocks of corporate accounting within a global, high-growth, and mission-driven technology environment, supporting financial operations and month-end close processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Prepare journal entries, reconcile various accounts, and maintain accurate financial records to ensure data integrity.
• Support: Contribute to the monthly and quarterly financial close processes by compiling necessary data, running financial reports, and preparing supporting schedules.
• Engage: Learn the functionality of Zipline’s finance systems and actively support data entry, detailed analysis, and cleanup projects.
• Manage: Partner with country operations and manufacturing teams to support fixed asset accounting, which includes asset tracking, capitalization, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate: Work closely with the broader Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to accurately track transactions and identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
• Learn: Gain exposure to international accounting operations and Zipline’s extensive global footprint, understanding diverse financial practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completed the second year of undergraduate studies in Accounting; Master’s students are also eligible to apply.
• Experience: Eagerness to apply academic accounting knowledge to real-world financial operations and contribute to a global tech company.
• Skills: Strong organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, comfort working with numerical data, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Demonstrated reliability, resourcefulness, and a clear motivation to learn through hands-on experience are also essential.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets, particularly through the use of formulas or pivot tables, and a strong curiosity about international accounting operations within a global tech startup.
