Financial Planning Analyst | Colonial Group, Inc.

This Financial Analyst position is critical for providing essential financial analyses, recommendations, and strategic support across the group. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital liaison between accounting and operations, demonstrating a motivated desire to learn the business comprehensively and contribute to the growth of the finance department.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Provide financial analyses, recommendations, and support for Colonial Group while acting as a liaison between accounting and operations.
• Tech Stack: Excel, JD Edwards, Power BI

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Optimization & Reporting: Collaborate with the Director of FP&A to develop and refine processes, aiming to improve financial analysis and reporting standards across Colonial’s subsidiary companies.
• Operational Business Insight: Partner closely with business leaders and operations teams to develop a deep understanding of the diverse business units and their financial drivers.
• Financial Data Analysis: Collect and analyze complex financial data by partnering with accounting, transforming raw information into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Support the continued development and refinement of the annual fiscal year budget and ongoing forecasting processes.
• Performance Monitoring & Modeling: Identify and develop key performance indicators, closely analyze monthly sales and margin performance, and build/maintain Excel models to support comprehensive financial reporting and analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: Working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and XLookup functions.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to JD Edwards and Power BI platforms, and comfort with learning new software.
