The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Penske Logistics, specifically for its EPES Transport, LLC. division, located in Greensboro, NC. Penske Logistics is a leading provider of transportation and supply chain solutions, and EPES Transport delivers dependable truckload transportation services across major U.S. markets. This position provides critical accounting and analytical support for core finance processes. The Financial Analyst will contribute directly to understanding and improving business results through meticulous financial analysis and strategic planning, playing a key part in supporting operational efficiency across field locations and ensuring informed financial decision-making for EPES Transport.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales Performance: Articulate Penske’s value proposition to internal teams and customers by identifying and measuring critical performance metrics.
• Business Planning: Effectively plan and forecast business results to guide operational and financial strategy.
• Financial Interpretation: Analyze and interpret financial results against proforma or business plans, understanding their relationship to the P&L and the impact of scope, volume changes, and inefficiencies.
• Strategic Solutions: Lead the process for identifying, specifying, and developing financial strategies, applying PMT and LEAN principles to determine optimal leasing versus buying solutions.
• Project Support: Provide additional analytical and accounting support to other functional areas through various assigned projects to achieve broader company results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required, qualifying for an early career analytical role.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience as an Analyst.
• Skills: Financial analysis and metric identification, financial planning and forecasting, P&L analysis and interpretation, and application of PMT and LEAN principles for strategic financial decision-making.
