This is a critical support role for a prominent full-service education law firm, located in Tustin, CA, and facilitated by Randstad USA. This esteemed firm provides comprehensive legal counsel to public school districts, community college districts, and colleges and universities throughout California, addressing a wide array of matters including broad governance, labor relations, workplace misconduct investigations, public finance, public works, and construction. This Litigation Practice Assistant position is vital for ensuring the efficient and organized operation of the firm’s litigation processes, providing essential administrative and legal support to attorneys handling diverse and high-stakes cases.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare, revise, and meticulously proofread a variety of legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Court Filings: Execute electronic filing of legal documents precisely in both state and federal courts.
• Deadline Management: Proactively manage claim deadlines, track responses, and coordinate all necessary follow-up communication.
• Scheduling & Tracking: Maintain comprehensive calendars for multiple attorneys and diligently track statutes of limitations for all cases.
• File Organization: Systematically organize and maintain all electronic and physical case files to ensure easy accessibility and adherence to firm standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: 3+ years of dedicated litigation support experience. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of State and Federal Court Rules, Government Claims Act Procedures, and Administrative Hearing Processes.
• Experience: Proficiency in essential software including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, Teams, and legal document management systems such as iManage.
• Skills: Excellent proofreading, grammar, and formatting abilities; strong organizational skills; the capacity to track multiple cases and attorney schedules; and the ability to communicate professionally with clients (school district employees) at all levels while maintaining a commitment to confidentiality.
• Bonus: Prior experience in education law or public agency settings is preferred.
