Litigation Legal Assistant | LHH
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Tacoma, WA, with a respected litigation practice that LHH is partnering with. This practice handles a diverse range of critical cases, including personal injury defense, premises liability, medical malpractice defense, and general civil litigation. This position is not entry-level; it requires an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant who can seamlessly integrate into a demanding legal environment and immediately provide vital support to a high-performing team of attorneys. The successful candidate will be key to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of case management and court proceedings.

• Mission: Support attorneys and ensure efficient management of litigation cases from preparation to filing, discovery, and coordination of proceedings.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Legal Documents: Meticulously prepare, format, and finalize a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and comprehensive legal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to court standards.
• Manage Deadlines: Proactively manage complex attorney calendars, meticulously track critical court deadlines, and coordinate all necessary filings with precision.
• Coordinate Proceedings: Efficiently coordinate and schedule various legal proceedings, such as depositions, mediations, and court hearings, handling all logistical arrangements.
• Process E-Filings: Expertly handle all electronic filing requirements for both Washington state and federal court systems, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
• Support Case Management: Provide comprehensive support for discovery processes, manage service of process, and maintain accurate, organized, and accessible case files for ongoing litigation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level professional with strong foundational knowledge of Washington court rules and procedures, ready to contribute without extensive training in a litigation setting.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience as a litigation legal assistant, demonstrating proficiency in handling diverse legal support tasks.
• Skills:
• Attention to Detail: Possess excellent attention to detail and superior proofreading skills to ensure the accuracy and quality of all legal documents.
• Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
• Organization: Demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities, complex calendars, and extensive case files efficiently.
• Independent Work: Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
