Litigation Docket Clerk | Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP
The Tone:
This is a hybrid Litigation Docket Clerk position with various office locations including Los Angeles, CA. Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is a leading global law firm with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This role is an integral part of the team, supporting the firmwide litigation practice by maintaining crucial calendaring systems. The Litigation Docket Clerk ensures attorneys and staff are accurately informed of important deadlines and court procedures, directly contributing to the successful management of legal cases.

• Mission: This person ensures litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions have accurate and timely access to critical filing information and deadlines through the firm’s docket system.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, CompuLaw (or comparable docketing software)
What You’ll Actually Do
• System Management: Maintains the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Information Gathering: Obtains essential filing information from court clerks and online dockets.
• Deadline Preparation: Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
• Research Support: Researches questions from attorneys, paralegals, and/or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, and local rules.
• Event Coordination: Responds to requests regarding calendared events, pleadings, court procedures, and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. An understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings at the federal, state, and county level is strongly preferred.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience desired, preferably in a large law firm.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong proofreading skills, exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and balance competing demands, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Experience with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software is a plus.
