Real Estate Paralegal | Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, located in Coral Gables, FL. As a national law firm, Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP requires diligent support across its legal services. This Real Estate Paralegal position is critical for managing and executing complex commercial and residential real estate transactions, ensuring precision and compliance in all legal processes.

• Mission: Providing critical paralegal support for commercial and residential real estate transactions, from closing coordination to document analysis.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Closing Document Preparation: Prepare and review critical closing documents, escrow instructions, and update closing checklists for real estate transactions.
• Transaction Coordination: Coordinate real estate closings and ensure the timely submission of all necessary documents for diverse transactions.
• Due Diligence and Title Review: Order and meticulously review various searches (tract, ownership, judgment, UCC), title commitments, surveys, and entity documents to support transaction due diligence.
• Title Clearance Management: Draft and respond to title objection letters, engaging in negotiations with title companies and other parties to resolve title issues.
• Legal Document Analysis: Prepare and analyze complex legal documents including mortgages, loan documents, and related financing and due diligence materials, alongside reviewing zoning applications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College degree and/or Paralegal certificate, coupled with prior work experience as a real estate paralegal.
• Experience: Three to five years as a commercial and transactional real estate paralegal within a law firm setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in reading and understanding legal descriptions, title reports, leases, loan documents, purchase agreements, and other contracts; familiarity with title company forms, escrow instructions, and various recorded liens; and competence in balancing escrow disbursements.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
