Legal Assistant | Kaufman Dolowich LLP

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Kaufman Dolowich, located in Philadelphia, PA. Kaufman Dolowich is a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas. This position is vital for supporting attorneys directly in preparing for upcoming cases and engaging in crucial fact-finding projects. The Legal Support Department seeks a self-starter to contribute to its growing team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and meetings, utilizing existing files and other research resources to develop information for pending cases.
• Draft discovery demands and responses, including Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection, and Requests for Admissions.
• Manage e-filing processes in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts, ensuring adherence to local rules, and process deposition transcripts.
• Prepare comprehensive trial and arbitration hearing binders, create timelines and demonstrative exhibits, and assist with drafting various legal documents like motions and proposed orders.
• Review, summarize, and analyze medical records to assist with defense actions, in addition to reviewing outgoing document production, redacting, and Bates stamping.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced Professional. Possess core domain knowledge of legal terminology and principles, with the ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of previous law firm experience is required, specifically with a strong background in litigation.
• Skills: Demonstrate exceptional organization skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Exhibit the capacity to multitask, prioritize workloads, work independently to complete assignments with limited guidance, and meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
