What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Draft professional correspondence and meticulously edit pleadings to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal standards for submission.
• Court Filings: Accurately prepare and file pleadings with both State and Federal courts, demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant rules and deadlines.
• Schedule Management: Proactively schedule depositions and expertly manage complex attorney calendars, including setting appointments and tracking commitments.
• Administrative Support: Handle travel arrangements for attorneys, process expense reports efficiently, and accurately complete time entries.
• Information Management: Conduct legal research as required and maintain organized physical and electronic files, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal support role, possessing familiarity with Labor Employment and other relevant fields of Law.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in a legal administrative capacity, including proficiency in advanced Microsoft Word functions such as formatting briefs and generating Tables of Contents and Table of Authorities.
• Skills: Possess a very strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures; excellent computer skills encompassing Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat; along with exceptional oral and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational abilities; capable of independent work and effective team collaboration.
• Bonus: Prior experience utilizing legal specific software such as IManage and Juris Suite is considered a significant advantage.
