Goldberg Segalla is an Am Law 200 and Chambers-ranked national civil litigation law firm, employing over 1,000 people who operate as one tight-knit and highly collaborative team. This Legal Assistant role is crucial in providing essential administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys. The position directly contributes to the firm’s efficient operation by balancing multiple requests and projects daily, ensuring smooth handling of business counseling, risk assessment, and dispute resolution for major national and regional clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys, and backup to other attorneys as requested.
• Document Management: Proofread and meticulously edit all legal materials for extreme accuracy and clarity, ensuring high-quality output.
• Financial Operations: Process invoices and manage expense reporting and billing for attorneys.
• Filing & Scheduling: Execute e-filing for various discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions, and assist with calendar calls and deposition scheduling.
• Logistics: Coordinate travel plans as needed and manage other administrative duties assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A professional with 2-3 years of dedicated experience in a law firm environment, specifically within civil litigation.
• Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience in a law firm, with civil litigation experience required.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize workload; excellent writing and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; e-filing knowledge; knowledge of legal documents, terminology, expense reporting, billing, and dictation.
