Financial Analyst | Venteon

The Tone:
This is a full-time role for a Financial Analyst at a leading company in the Metro-Detroit area, working through Venteon, a talent acquisition firm. The client company is well-established and recognized as a leader within its industry, contributing significantly to the regional economy. This position is a crucial part of the corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department. The Financial Analyst will directly contribute to core financial operations, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and strategic forecasts, providing essential insights for the company’s continuous growth and informed decision-making.

• Mission: To prepare consolidated financial statements, create comprehensive forecasts, and perform various monthly and annual financial analyses critical for company operations and strategic insight.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Weekly Forecasting: Prepare detailed weekly financial forecasts, providing critical insights that guide operational planning and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
• Monthly Financial Reporting Support: Actively assist with the comprehensive monthly reporting of financial results, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely communication to relevant stakeholders.
• Quarterly and Annual Financial Statement Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of data pertaining to quarterly and annual financial statements, identifying key trends, variances, and performance indicators to contribute to robust financial evaluations.
• FP&A Process Improvement Leadership: Lead and drive the implementation of impactful process improvements specifically within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department, aiming to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve data integrity.
• Consolidated Financial Planning & Analysis Execution: Execute essential monthly and quarterly financial planning and analysis functions, encompassing the preparation of financial statements and subsequent detailed analysis, as a core responsibility within the corporate FP&A team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This position is suitable for an early-career professional with a foundational understanding and core domain knowledge acquired within a corporate finance or accounting department environment.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of directly related professional experience is required, specifically gained within a corporate finance or corporate accounting setting.
• Skills: Candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, demonstrated proficiency in written communication, and effective interpersonal skills for collaborative work within the corporate team.
