Quantitative Researcher | Goliath Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Goliath Partners, located in New York or Miami. Goliath Partners is a systematic prop trading firm managing $6B in assets under management. The firm is currently in its most ambitious growth phase yet, planning to double headcount, open new offices, and expand globally in 2026/27. This Quantitative Researcher position is crucial for conducting alpha research that directly informs and drives the firm’s trading strategies. The role involves close collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Quant Developers within a lean, high-output team environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct alpha research to discover new and profitable trading opportunities.
• Modeling: Build and refine production-grade signal and factor models for systematic trading.
• Development: Develop machine learning-driven approaches to forecast price behavior and market microstructure.
• Collaboration: Integrate research findings and models into live trading strategies by working directly with Portfolio Managers and Quant Developers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a strong academic foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, or engineering.
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant professional experience, including prior buy-side internship experience in research, development, or execution. Proven experience with signals in production, having seen your work trade live.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in quantitative modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning application, and alpha signal development.
